In 2017, Nintendo had released their followup game console device to the Wii U, called the Nintendo Switch. They marketed everything correctly, and it looks like it paid off swimmingly. The Nintendo Switch is reported to have already outsold the Nintendo Wii U's lifetime sales and appears to be the device that consumers want.
Nintendo did it right this time.
